Okay, I have to rant although I don’t usually bother much.
What’s the deal with fans pasting kpop idols’ faces into porn stills/gifs?
AND THEN CASUALLY TAGGING IT WITH THE IDOLS’ NAME?
Are you out of your mind?
Fanfiction is fine. The idol (couple) is your inspiration. You give a warning by rating it M or NC-17 or whatever the hell you wish and a reader that’s uncomfortable with reading smut will just scroll over and find themselves a fluffy PG-13 one. Good job Mr Writer you wrote a nice story and gave a fair warning. Since it’s “-fiction” nobody should complain.
Fanart is fine too, again it’s an inspiration, because it’s only really a resemblance, more or less strinking, to the idol himself. If it’s really graphic it would be nice if you put it under a ‘read more’. Good job Mr Illustrator, you created a beautiful fanart, and since it’s “-art” nobody should complain.
Now why the fuck would someone use something that is obviously pornography, stick oppars faces on it and post it for everyone scrolling the tag to see?
1. How the hell would you feel with your face stuck to a porn gif and floating around the Internet? Wait till there’s a sex tape and oppa releases it, then gif it. At least it will be legit.
2. Tumblr is not only for 18+ people. I know there are 14 year olds that probably know more about sex than me, but still, putting porn in the tag for everyone to see, when you know there are people way younger than you scrolling it, is a no-no.
If you really feel the need to post pornesque stuff on your kpop blog at least refrain from tagging it with idol xx’s name. Post it under a read more. Give a NSFW warning. It’s that simple.

But mind you, editing porn stills/gifs is neither creative, nor artsy. It feels uncomfortable and like an insult to the idol himself. I’m not kidding. People commit suicide over their own leaked naked pictures. And here you are sticking an idols face to pornography, not caring for whether he’s gay, straight, for his beliefs, for his view on sex. Feels okay because he’s a public figure, right? People write smutty fanfiction about him right? So doing anything should be okay?
Again, mind you, it’s “-fiction”, not sticking an actual, living human beings face on pornography and posting it for fun, to get notes. Plus, pictures are easy to see and understand, you just need one glance. As for fanfiction you actually have to read to notice that it’s smut at all.
I came across this and after watching it, I found myself tearing up…When Soldier Lee Yong Hyuk enlisted, he found out that his mother has breast cancer and might not live long. Seeing that Superstar K4 came to his military training base to hold auditions, he decided to join and sing - as a final gift for his mother.
The song is called 엄마 (Mother) by Ra.D, and it is about appreciating everything that a mother has done. Now, I may not know Korean, but from the way he sings, it was enough to make me feel touched and get all teary-eyed just like PSY, Son Dam Bi and the soldiers present there.
I thought I’d just share this with everyone because sometimes we need a little reminder to realise that we shouldn’t take our mothers for granted and that we should always be thankful for everything they have done for us :’)
I have just realized (again) how much respect subbers deserve. Those people sacrifice their free time in order to sub stuff for free, for other people to understand the shows and dramas too. Sure, it’s their choice but they could’ve just casually watched it alone and not make it possible for others to share the fun. Most of the time us fans do realize how much hard work it costs, but sometimes we’re just nagging about how we want the next part out like right now, without caring much for the fact that the subbing volunteers do in fact have a personal life. I’ve just tried subbing a Korean drama to English, using Chinese subtitles and it takes so much time to sub just a single minute when there’s lots of dialogue going on, I really admire those people that are releasing subs for full episodes in two, three days since release.
The conclusion: subbers are my heroes. I want to be able to translate stuff as quickly as those guys do someday.
